Miscellaneous Pics for July and August!

Our summer in review...
He's going in...

This was Jed's "wardrobe" to go into our attic and fix a strip of insulation that had come down. I think I cried I laughed so hard. And of course this was 1 of our 2 days that it hit 90 degrees this summer (which means it was probably 110 in the attic).

Gavin likes to hold Reagan at night while Jed and I go upstairs to tuck Kyra and Carley in. Well we were upstairs less than 2 minutes this night and came back down and SHE had put him to sleep. :-)

And Kyra...good thing Grandpa has a huge patch of sweet corn and plants them at intervals so we can enjoy throughout the summer!

Reagan is starting to sit in her highchair (with the help of blankets to keep her upright!). This was also the first day she grabbed a toy on her own and got it to her mouth - of course, where else would it go?

I was taking Reagan's 3 month pictures and Gavin decided he needed so photography practice. Kyra was having none of it but the rest of us girls did. He didn't do to bad - we still all have our heads!

We got to watch Isabella and Isaiah (my friend's kids) for a week while their daycare provider was on vacation. We had lots of fun. I hope Isaiah's Dad appreciates that his BOY is not participating in dress up time. :-) But the girls had fun EVERY day playing house and dress up and walking on plastic high heel shoes that could break anyones neck!

All 5 of them playing in the sandbox. It's amazing how well they all get along when they are all so close in age - 2, 2, 3, 6, 6 and of course Reagan.

Swimming

Gavin & Kyra took swimming lessons this summer (Gavin's second year, Kyra's first). Kyra loves the water and isn't afraid to get wet, Gavin takes a little more time getting used to the water, but by the end of the week they had both improved a lot! Gavin on the flutter board.

Reagan - Two Months

Reagan is two months old already. She is such a good baby. She sleeps good, she is so quick with a smile and she is content most of the day and has only a short fussy period in the evenings before bedtime. Here are some updated pics.

Family Vacation

The whole family (minus Jacque and Bryon) went to Alexandria for a weekend of fishing and relaxing.

Britton and Grandpa caught LARGE fish (if you look close enough you can see the fish Brit caught - Grandpa's is almost as small). :-) Another keeper?!

Gavin riding the floating chair. He was only in the lake about 20 minutes but that was long enough to get a leech on his toe that Uncle Brandon had to pluck off. Ahh... I have goose bumps thinking about it.

Kyra loves fishing and is by far the best fishergirl in the family - she gets the award for catching the most fish and she has NO problems at all touching them.

Lacy, Grandma, Grandpa, Britton, Gavin, Kyra and Carley going out on the boat to fish.

This was Saturday when it was 65 and windy. These life jackets are made to go to 50 lbs. but if we keep taking family vacations that are 65 degrees and colder and the kids have to wear their lined coats under the lifejackets - they aren't going to make it to 50 lbs.

Gavin is set to fish. He got a tackle box for Christmas and finally got to use it with his CARS fishing pole. He was bound and determined to use this big green fake worm to catch fish but after Kyra caught about 5 fish in 10 minutes he decided maybe he should try a real worm. She still caught more than he did but he didn't seem to mind too much.

Cloud Dancers

There is a local family who has a hot air balloon and we see it quite often in the spring through fall months but on Friday morning it was closer than it's ever been. It took off just to the west of our house and followed Hwy 14 which we are only 1/4 of a mile from. The kids were still sleeping but I had to go wake Gavin up to see it since it was so close.

Right out from our house - you could hear the air going into it - sounded like a dragon.

When it was following the highway the trucks would honk at it as they drove under it - they were not very far off the ground!Yes the did clear these trees, although they had Gavin and me wondering!

Their truck with the trailer that they haul the balloon in parked right outside of our house and waited for the balloon to work its way over our road, then it drove down to the next mail to wait again. They are called "Cloud Dancers".

Rainbow

Last week we had the pleasure of seeing the BEST rainbow I have ever seen. All of the colors were there in bright shades and it was a full rainbow. Where the trees are on the left is our neighbors farm and Kyra asked, "Why did God make the rainbow land on their farm Mom?" Good question. (We tried to explain that if you went to their farm the rainbow would look like it was somewhere else - we weren't getting anywhere - it's just easier to go with it "landed" on the neighbors farm).
