Annual Pumpkin Harvest

We had a good crop of pumpkins this year!  The kids had fun harvesting.

Miscellaneous

Some random photos...

So this is what Reagan does when she is waiting for me to change her diaper.  Good old Baby Powder.  On a plus note.  Almost two weeks ago she decided she was going to be a "big girl" and basically potty trained herself immediately.  Hey, I won't complain with that!  I am done potty training (well, my kids anyway)!  :-)
Reagan reading a book to her baby.
I was getting my fall decorations out and Declan decided to get in the pumpkin.  Of course then he couldn't get out - that made mad, but he was having fun before that!
Reagan the Bobble Head.  She can't even walk in a straight line with Gavin's helmet on.

Football

In no way did I ever think I would be a football Mom when my son was only 9...but it has happened.  Jed and Gavin thought it would be a good idea to start tackle football this year?!  So, Gavin started football this year.  The first new experience was the girls and I taking Gavin to the store to purchase all of his football "stuff" that he needed.  I didn't have a clue, but we walked in and a very nice high school football player helped us out and got Gavin fitted for everything he needed.  Football stuff is expensive!  Now we are midway through the two a week practices, scrimmages and games every Saturday morning - and in typical Minnesota football, last Saturday we sat in 38 degree weather with layers and layers on and blakets overtop of us!  Luckily this Saturday it is supposed to be in the 50s I think.  Gavin is loving it and so far no major injuries, just a couple of bruises here and there.  He is the smallest kid on his team but that didn't really suprise us much.  Some of those boys are big!  I just close my eyes when he gets close to them.  He has played a lot of safety but they do move them around from time to time so that they get a feel for all of the spots on the field, although I do not think they have put him on the line yet - thank goodness, that matchup is just too uneven for me!

First Day of School!!!

I sent three kiddos off to the first day of school this year!  Gavin is in 3rd grade with Mrs. Chatelaine, Kyra is in 1st grade with Mrs. Resler and Carley is in Kindergarten with Mrs. Wolfe.  They are all loving school and doing so well this year!  The one having the toughest time is Mom!  Two trips to Owatonna every day, lost all her big kid helpers, kind of quiet during the day with just Reagan and Declan to talk to and my calendar looks like an intricate map of something - still not sure what - but there are arrows going here and there, things circled, things crossed out, things highlighted - it is a wreck trying to manage three kids school schedules and all that they need to remember each day!  Reagan and Declan and I have been enjoying quiet days, going for walks on these beautiful fall days, organizing - suprisingly Reagan is a good help with this, and napping!  ;-)  It's a quiet house with only two!

Camping Trip

Last year after our first ever family vacation (just the 6 of us) we decided it needed to be a yearly tradition.  So, this year we found a really nice camp grounds just 45 minutes from us.  And when I say "camping", I mean CAMPING - tent, no water/electricity at our site, camping.  Yeah, most people thought we were crazy but we had such a great time.  We went on Sunday and came home on Wednesday.  The van was PACKED but we fit it all into one vehicle and didn't forget anything major.  We had perfect weather both day and night.  We slept in the tent, we had picnics every day, we went swimming, we jumped on the big jumping pillow, did arts and crafts, went on the water slides, used the banana bikes and big bikes, went for walks, went mini-golfing, went for train rides and tractor/hay rides and we went fishing (Gavin caught a nice catfish and Carley caught a nice Croppy and everyone caughts TONS of little fish - like they could have almost been the bait they were so little, but it was so much fun to watch them having fun catching so many fish and Kyra and Gavin both bait the hooks and take the fish off - something Jed is thankful for since I am NO help in the fishing area - any aspect of it).

Kids had to have socks on while doing the jumping pillow, which is surrounded by tons of sand - so needless to say, we went through a LOT of socks!
Craft projects - they were in heaven, crafts every day at 11:00!

Our turtle friend visited us every day when we were fishing.

Kyra "cuddling" the worms we were using for bait?!
