Big Brother Big Sister Fundraiser

Hello All!

Once again this year we will be participating in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Annual Fundraiser Bowling Day.  Our goal is to raise at least $50 each to go towards the fundraiser.  If you would like to donate and help us reach our goal, we would greatly appreciate it!  See below for more information on what the organization is and to learn how you can help support our team!

Thanks,
Gavin, Kyra, Carley & Reagan

How Can I Sponsor a Participant?
Right now, there are kids in your community who could thrive if they only had a caring adult mentor.   We are going to be bowling on Saturday, April 16th for the Annual Bowl For Kids Sake Fundraiser for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization.  Our Uncle Bryon is a Board Member of this organization and we think it's a pretty neat thing that we can help other kids have opportunities that they otherwise would not have.  If you can help us by sponsoring our team that would be great!  Go to:

and click on "Sponsor Participant" on the left hand side.  It will then ask you for the participants name.  You can type of of our names in (Gavin DeWitz, Kyra DeWitz, Carley DeWitz or Reagan DeWitz) and click the "search" button.  Then you will need to scroll down to click on the name that you'd like to donate to.  The next screen will ask you to enter your donation amount and will take you through the payment process.  Thank you, thank you!!!

What is Bowl for Kids’ Sake?

Bowl for Kids' Sake is about having fun to help kids. It is our most important fundraising event. Funds raised go directly toward matching children with carefully-screened, caring Big Brother and Big Sister volunteers.

What is Big Brothers Big Sisters?
Big Brothers Big Sisters is not your typical organization. We help children realize their potential and build their futures. We nurture children and strengthen communities. And we couldn’t do any of it without you.

For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through 18, in communities across the country. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.

Vision: all children achieve success in life.

Mission: provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.

Accountability: by partnering with parents/guardians, volunteers and others in the community we are accountable for each child in our program achieving:

• Higher aspirations, greater confidence, and better relationships
• Avoidance of risky behaviors
• Educational success

Our Programs Start Something
Here's the proof. National research has shown that positive relationships between Littles and their Bigs have a direct and measurable impact on children’s lives. By participating in our programs, Little Brothers and Sisters are:

•more confident in their schoolwork performance
•able to get along better with their families
•46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs
•27% less likely to begin using alcohol
•52% less likely to skip school.
